Scott Reiling
Years Active: 1998-Present
Scott is married to Beth and have 3 children (Sarah, Megan and Drew). Megan and Drew were both former Cardegles. He has been a member of both St. Jude and St. Charles parishes over the years. He started running over 40 years ago as part of his conditioning for Judo. He ran varsity cross country for Bishop Dwenger HS 1978-1980. He was also a 4 year varsity wrestler at Bishop Dwenger HS running during the wrestling season to stay conditioned and in weight class. He has competed in many 5k, 10k, 12k, 15k, 20k, half marathons, marathons, dualathons, triathlons, adventure-triathlons, pump&runs over the years.
Scott started coaching the Cardegles in 1998. He was a member of the St. Jude athletic comity and suggested during a meeting that St. Jude needed to start a cross country team, they agreed, and told him to go do it, so he did. He didn’t have enough kids signed up for a full boys and girls team, so he contacted Dan Kaufman(St. Charles Cross Country Coach) to see if he would be willing to have St. Charles Cardinals / St. Jude Eagles (Cardegles) combine as a team, and he agreed. Scott is very proud of the growth of this program over the years. He is amazed at the positive impact that everybody(Coaches, Parents and Runners) involved with this program has made. Scotts most rewarding part of coaching is when he sees one of the Cardegles transform from improving runner to competitive racer.
Scott has worked as an Engineer at ITT (Exelis now Harris) since 1986.
