NORWELL MIDDLE SCHOOL

CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

WEDNESDAY, August 31st, 2022

Location:  Norwell Middle School

Course:  3k course. 2022 course map included. Due to construction, the course will be different than we ran in previous seasons.

Race Schedule:                 4:30                Course Opens

5:30               Boys reserve race

6:00               Girls reserve race

6:30               Boys varsity race

7:00               Girls varsity race

Please have athletes in their lanes 5 minutes prior to their races. 

Race Results: Results will be available following the awards ceremony.

Race Procedures:

• Each participating school will be given packets/envelopes when they arrive at the east end of the football field.
• On arrival, please meet NMS staff member near the east end of the football field as stated above.
• All runners will be assigned a timing chip and race bib. Only 7 will run as varsity runners.  All other participants will run in the reserve race.
• Runners should attach their assigned bib and timing chip. See attached photo for an example of chip attachment with twist ties. Chips will be disposable, so there is no need to return them.
• Event workers will catch each runner at the finish chute corral area, providing them with water.
• Runners with timing chips should not be anywhere near the finish line when they are not racing!
• Only coaches and participants are allowed on the course.
• Water will be provided to all athletes at the finish line.

 Awards Ceremony:

We will distribute awards on the softball field.  Runners and fans should gather at the conclusion of the girls varsity race.
